Here are some frequently asked questions about Hunchly. If you have a question that isn't answered here, please use the Contact Link above or send us an email at support@hunch.ly.

What are the minimum system requirements for Hunchly?

Hunchly requires the following minimum system specifications:

  • Windows 7 or higher - 64-bit required
  • Mac OSX 10.10 (Yosemite) or higher.
  • Debian-based Linux (Debian, Ubuntu, Buscador, Mint, etc.) - 64-bit required

Hunchly works best with the following:

  • 4GB of RAM or more.
  • 20GB of disk space.

How much disk space does Hunchly take up when it is capturing data?

It really depends on the type of pages that you are capturing. The best estimate is that there is approximately 3MB needed for each page. If you capture 1000 pages, you should estimate 3GB of hard drive space. An average case in our experience is between 500-1500 pages.

If you use the minimum system requirements of 20GB then you should be able to store 6000 pages. We always recommend that you back up (export) your cases, and move them to external storage when you are done with them. You can then remove them from Hunchly to save space.

How does the licensing/fees work?

Hunchly licenses are billed yearly and make you eligible for support and updates. They are user licenses, which means each user can install it on as many machines/devices as they like. If there are multiple users, then you need multiple licenses.

Does Hunchly work on the dark web?

You bet it does. In fact, we are big fans of dark web research. You can sign up for a daily dark web email here or download our dark web setup guide here.
