Create a New Graph

Modified on Tue, 21 Oct at 1:08 PM

In Maltego Graph (Browser), users can create new graphs in several ways depending on their workflow. Typically, users initiate a new graph after completing a search or navigating from other components like Maltego Cases.

A new graph can be created in two ways.

Using Maltego Cases on the Side Bar

  • Expand the Maltego Cases drawer by clicking on the icon.
  • Click New Graph.
  • Alternatively, click the three dots next to a case folder and select New Graph.

From the Top Bar

  • Within an active graph, click the plus icon next to the graph name in the Top Bar.

Configuring a New Graph

When creating a graph, users can configure the following settings:

  1. Encryption:
    • Choose whether the graph should be end-to-end encrypted.
    • Based on this choice, the case dropdown will display either encrypted or unencrypted cases.
    • Please note that in order to encrypt a new graph, you need to create an encrypted case first.
  2. Naming the Graph:
    • Provide a unique name for the graph.
  3. Opening Location:
    • Choose whether to open the graph in the current window or a new tab.
    • If a user selects an option that deviates from the default, the preference is saved for future graphs.
  4. Default Behavior: Graphs open in a new tab.
