Data usage dashboard

Modified on Mon, 4 Nov, 2024 at 7:16 AM

The data usage dashboard allows advanced users to monitor their usage for various data sources and features in Maltego Monitor (previously PublicSonar).

This helps users take control of their data usage per source throughout the month.

Accessing the Dashboard

  1. Open your monitor.
  2. Select the 'Data usage' icon next to the notification bell.

Dashboard overview

The dashboard displays usage gauges for the following data sources and features:

  • X (Twitter) (messages)
  • Image Analysis (images)
  • Identity Search (searches)
  • Video Transcription (minutes)
  • Instagram (requests)
  • Facebook (requests)

Understanding the gauges

Each gauge provides the following information:

  1. Current Usage: the amount of the total data used so far.
  2. Quota Limit: The maximum allowed usage according to your quota.
  3. Estimated end-of-month usage: The projected usage by the end of the coming month based on the current consumption rate.

The gauge color indicates the usage status:

  • Purple: Normal usage
  • Yellow: Approaching limit
  • Red: Near or at limit

Exceeded quotas

If a quota is exceeded, it will be clearly marked on the dashboard and you will receive a usage alert via email. If you need help with managing your quota, please reach out to Support by emailing support@maltego.com or log a support ticket using the online form.

Monitoring best practice

  • Check the dashboard regularly to stay informed about your data usage.
  • Pay attention to the estimated end-of-month usage to anticipate potential quota issues.
  • If you notice unusually high usage, review your active searches and filters.
  • Contact support if you need assistance with quota management or have questions about auto-paused cases.
